maxuta_id="016172" ~ SOYUZ-11 DIED CREW SIGNED PHOTO: TRAINING ~ It's offered to your attention the black-and-white photo of the Soviet cosmonauts VOLKOV, DOBROVOLSKI and PATSAEV - the crew of SOYUZ-11 - who died in 1971 while landing. The photo shows the cosmonauts during their pre-flight training in Star City Cosmonauts Training Center - they are studying Soyuz simulator. Soyuz-11 mission was the first long-term flight to Salyut-1 first Soviet orbital station! After successful docking the crew worked in orbit for more then 23 days and carried out a lot of work and experiments. But on June 30, 1971 the cosmonauts tragically died during landing because of depressurization. The photo is SIGNED by the cosmonauts VOLKOV, DOBROVOLSKI, PATSAEV - the crew of Soyuz-11 unhappy mission... That is a very rare and unique collectible thing because usually cosmonauts signed photos and postcards after return. Volkov's signature is not as rare as Dobrovolsky's and Patsaev's because of Volkov's first flight onboard Soyuz-7. Sometimes single signatures of Dobrovolsky and Patsaev could be found, and they are 80% fakes because of the rarity. But there are all 3 together on this photo!!!
