It's brand new. I just made it. This piece is an original design by the emerging glass artist Darren Goodman (me). Many of my low platters can be used as a wall bowl also, but this one can only be used as a table platter. See photos below. I mostly show my work in contemporary glass galleries. The pieces for these galleries are highly sophisticated sculptures which are cut and polished (the picture to the right is an example). This series is called my "Pathway" series. Do you operate your own glass blowing studio? Yes - I started my own glass studio about one year after graduating college, and have now been operating my own hot glass studio since February 2005! I teach private lessons during the spring, winter and fall, and during the summer I focus exclusively on my work - primarily the sculptural glass. Running a hot glass shop can be pretty expensive and a whole lot of work, but in the end it is all worth it! What other interest's do you have? I am very interested in music. My father is a musician, and I grew up playing music within my family. Though I know how to play the drums and piano, I mainly play acoustic guitar and do the singer/songwriter kind of thing. I perform around once or twice a month in my free time. My all time favorite musician/songwriter is Ray Charles and my favorite living musician/songwriter is Jason Mraz.
