1910 MORGAN Show HORSES Rochester NY Brochure CATALOGS a.imagelink {color:#639ACE;} a:hover.imagelink {color:#639ACE;} a:visited.imagelink {color:#666666;} a.imagelink img.auctionimage { border: 2px solid #639ACE; } a:visited.imagelink img.auctionimage { border: 2px solid #666666; } Description: This is a Great and Very Rare find. Up for auction are two Original 1910 Brochures of High Quality Morgan Horses for sale and Stud at Bayside Farm in Rochester, New York. Beautiful early near Turn of the Century images of Morgan Horses that are most likely the Ansestors of some of today's Great Animals. This looks to have been a large and impressive Farm with great Horses. The first brochure shows images of the horses inside and on teh front and back covers and lists teh stats for two. The inside reads" A few of the many Morgans bred at Bayside Farm, now in stud in different parts of teh Country and Mexico. The pictures were made from Kodak Photographs and represent a six-month-old colt, a yearling, two two-year-olds, two three-year-olds, and two mature horses." The second brochure, also from Bayside, anddated February 1, 1910, lists 11 different horses for sale complete with all stats and full Pedigree information. Mention is made about the high quality of these horses and talk of a horse that has a great reputation with several of his get selling at auction for over $3,000. Talks of one as "One of the best bred Morgan Colts living, of the old Morgan Type." And also mentions their having exibited at the Pan-American Exposition: "Sports of the Times[magazine] in mentioning the purchase of Fleetwood says: 'Fleetwood is a very handsome stallion, and when his get from the daughters of White River Morgan are old enough to show, Bayside FArm will send out an even more sensational lot of horses than made up it's great exhibit at the Pan-American Exposition, which attracted widespread attention.'" Both pieces measure 6" x 9" and the condition can be seen in the images with soem paper loss in the corners and overall wear, but not bad for almost 100 year old pieces that were meant to be thrown away. Somehow these survived all these years. See images for specifics and to see how great the really look! A really great chance to own a piece of Very Early Morgan Horse History. This will surely make a great addition to someone's collection. If you have any questions please feel free to ask before bidding. Thanks. Good luck and happy bidding!
