1912 University of Wisconsin The Badger Yearbook CHEAP ! CHEAP ! CHEAP ! Published In 1912 ! Four (4) years before 19th Amendment Womens’ Right to Vote ! This wonderful old book is 96 years old ! Almost 100 yrs old! This book is so old, it is Beyond Vintage ! ;-) This LOOKS like a Leather Bound book. But I have NO IDEA if it is. The texture of the Black cover is “crackledâ€, and looks leather-y, but I cannot guarantee that it is. The Title-Lettering on the Front Cover is Gold color (really gold? Don’t know) GOLD GILDING ON TOP OF PAGES OF THIS BOOK – NICE! Volume 26 (Volume XXVI ) - 646 pages & ALL pages are intact ! The contents are amazing – not just a “yearbook†with students & alumni…. There is much much more: Separate sections have pictures “Colored Plates†that are separately attached They are Print Copies, signed by artist, and wonderful depictions of the era. Also, “articles†and “sections†refer to the Controversies of the era ! Even a section on Educating Women ! This book was published Before Women could vote = (19th amendment in 1918) Detailed sections on Fraternities and Sororities. Also an unusual section on what they called “Societies†(names of some were =Iron Cross, Yellow Helmet, Hammer & Tongs, Monsastics, Inner Gate, Skull & Crescent, Mystic Circle, etc/) The photos are wonderful and abundant – love the cars, clothing, architecture At the end, there are over 50 pages of ADVERTISING that is awesome – the descriptions and the caricatures and photos and pictures are incredible. There is one torn page, it is the First of those Blank pages that are in the front of the book. And, I saw just 2 small tears inside in contents. Front outside spine is split, Back ouside spine is intact with about a 1-inch tear at the bottom. BOTH inside spines are IN TACT, with NO TEARS I found No Writing or Marks in this book. ************************************************************************************ All items sold as is, from a smoke-free home.
