Vintage paper collectible !  Not a recent reproduction ! Unconditionally guaranteed authentic and as described ! No hidden reserve ! 9 1/4" x 10 1/4" newsprint supplement for the Sunday July 26, 1914 New York World. 8 Pages. Contents include the 29th crossword puzzle ever published, and a wonderful full color comic strip by Otto Messmer ( who later created Felix the Cat for the Pat Sullivan animation studio). This is one of Messmer's First published pieces, and is a great sight gag with a convict cutting stripes off his clothes so he resembles a swimmer. Art is initialled "O.M.". Front cover is by Carmichael. Other cartoonists include: Carl Anderson, C.W. Kahles, Norman Anthony, Myra Cordes. Rest of issue has jokes and a checker game. Condition : Lower right corner tip of issue is missing 1/2", a few tears in blank margin edges, pages just a bit tanned though not brittle. Overall Good / Very Good.
