The Autobiography of Calvin Coolidge. New York: Cosmopolitan Book Corporation, 1929. Second trade edition. Signed and inscribed by the former President. A personal and political memoir by Coolidge (1872-1933), a Republican from Vermont who served as Governor of Massachussets, Vice President and President of the United States. Signed by Coolidge on a separate slip of paper that has been pasted below the frontispiece portrait. Slip measures 2 by 4.5 inches. Signed in black ink with a brief inscription: "To Margaret W. Alexander / With Best Wishes / Calvin Coolidge." 246 pages. Clothbound hardcover. 8.75 by 6 inches. A well-read book with wear to the extremities and light stains to the binding. The inner hinges are cracked but still holding. Good condition otherwise. Two old clippings about Coolidge's death laid into the book. Lacking the uncommon dust jacket, but protected by a new clear archival jacket. Signature / inscription guaranteed to be authentic. Lifetime guarantee of authenticty.
