Up for auction is a "True-Type Holstein-Friesian Cow" sculpture from The Holstein-Friesian Association of America Brattleboro, Vermont by Displaymasters Inc. Edgewater, N.J. From what I understand these were awards that finalists for Junior Members of Holstein Friesian association. I recently found this at a yard sale in Huntington Beach, CA. The lady who was selling it said it belonged to her cousin who recently just past away who was 86 years old. She said she remembers him havinging it as far back as she was a teenager, shes 76. She told me he was a breeder of these cows and he must have been a member of the Holstein-Friesian Association. Her and her cousin were from Michigan. I've seen other ones of these on here but I believe this one has to date back to maybe the late 40s or early 50s. The more modern ones have the brown wooden bases, mostly from the 70s. This is a truly great find with a story to go to it. Does look like it's had a minor repair to one of the horns and to the tail. Mostly likely were glued back on (see pics).
