1040s vintage burgundy felt souvenir pennant from Washington Memorial Chapel at Valley Forge, Pennsylvania.The Chapel began as the dream of Dr. W. Herbert Burk, DD, who founded the Memorial in 1903. It stands in remembrance of General Washington and those brave men and women who gave so much to win our freedom in the American Revolution and to all those of every generation who have given freely to maintain and strengthen the freedom of the United States of America. General Washington may have been the first to offer prayers to God from the Book of Common Prayer on these sacred grounds. Now the Chapel is home to a rich tradition of Episcopal worship and music excellence supported by our towering Carillon with its 58 bells to our marvelous pipe organ.
