Up for auction is a very nice booklet from Timken: A Trip through the Timken Plants. Copyright date is 1947 by the Timken Roller Bearing Company. 84 pages, in nice condition. It appears to not have been looked at too much, although a few of the pages are slightly discolored, but not too bad. Pictures of the following plants are on page 4: Main Plant in Canton Ohio; Gambrinus Plant in Canton Ohio; Branch Plant in Columbus Ohio; Rock Bit Plant in Mt. Vernon Ohio; Tube Mill in Wooster Ohio; Canadian Plant in St. Thomas Ontario. Zanesville and Colorado Springs plants are not shown. A note on the "Forward" page states "This booklet is designed to give you a bird's-eye view of the manufacturing equipment and operations which combine to make possible the production of Timken Alloy Steel, Timken Seamless Tubes, Timken Tapered roller Bearings and Timken Removable Rock Bits." This is an excellent informational booklet with many pictures and descriptions about Timken's operations in 1947. Almost every page has several pictures and illustrations of the different aspects of the steel operations from the furnaces all the way through production, testing and shipping. (My lighting when I took pictures caused the shadows) Please feel free to ask me any questions! Shipment will be by USPS Priority Mail.
