This 1947 Ole Miss yearbook is considered to be in very good condition for a 61 year old. There are 321 pages plus an advertising section. The flaw is a 2" x 3/4" portion missing from the upper spine cover. All pages remain tightly bound. The Colonel Rebel cover is a favorite among collectors. One scan shows the football coaching staff for the 1946 season. Head Coach was Red Drew. Assistants included Wobble Davidson, Junie Hovious, Tad Smith and Johnny Vaught. In January 1947 Drew would leave for Alabama and Vaught would be named Head Coach. Good times were about to begin. One amusing blooper in this yearbook is that the yearbook folks misspelled Coach Vaughts name as Vought. They would get it right the next year and thereafter. Another scan shows players Charley Conerly, Farley Salmon and "Jenk" Jenkins. The other scan shows Miss Ole Miss Ygondine Walker and Colonel Rebel Ray Poole.
