These steel dividers are incredibly well made from one piece of steel, which has been forged into shape - including the spring at the top - then tempered and blued to give the spring it's tension, and a good colour to the rest of the metal. The spring has actually been shaped from the same piece as the pointers, and was beaten and filed into the right thickness, allowing for a strengthening rib that runs around it. The screw adjustment bar - which is set into and through the pointers - has been hinged, to allow for the straightness during adjustment. It is just under nine inches long and in extremely good condition. A really good example of the beauty of functionality, you will not get better than this for a collectors tool in this category. Postage in the UK is £1.50, and airmail to the rest of the world is £4.
