Original and GUARENTEED....... THE LOS ANGELES STEAMSHIP COMPANY..........TWO PHOTOGRAPHS of the S.S. CITY OF LOS ANGELES circa 1922/1923. VG condition (some corner rubs and bumps, lighthouse photo is copied from the original a few years after, the other has a 1/2 inch edge tear at bottom and edge glue residue on back). Photos measure 9 7/8 by 7 7/8 inches each. She was formerly the Norddeutscher Lloyd Bremen S.S. GROSSER KURFURST from 1900 to 1917. She was then used by the US Government until 1922 and renamed AEOLUS . In 1922, she went to the Los Angeles Steamship Company and was renamed CITY OF LOS ANGELES. Her Maiden Voyage marked the beginning of the first regular Connection between Hawaii and Los Angeles as well as the first Passenger service Competition for the Matson Line.
