In these days of uncomfortable. overpriced plane travel, here is an interesting collectible that hearkens back to a more elegant time. This set of 2 menu cards is from a trans-Atlantic cruise in the summer of 1928. The travelers (who were from Houston, TX), were travelling 3rd class on the Anchor Line ship, S.S. Caledonia to London. The cards represent: Wednesday June 5, 1929 - dinner - featuring Duckling Cutlets with peas, Roast Quarters of Lamb and Fried Filet of Brill. Saturday, June 8, 1929 - the Farewell Dinner - featuring Striped Bass, Roast Ribs and Sirloin of Beef and Roast Turkey. The cards are almost 80 years old and show some minor signs of wear.
