THERE IS A LOW RESERVE -Scroll down for photos- Description: Up for auction are two packs of Beeman's Pepsin Gum that any collector or hobbyist or historian are sure to enjoy.. These are two authentic, unopened packs of gum, circa 1940 - 1944. They are light army green, red, white and black in color and have a real WWII look. On the front is a banner saying "BEEMANS'S" and "PEPSIN GUM" , and a picture of doctor Beeman. The top side says "MADE OF GUM BASE SUGAR, DEXTROSE, CORN SYRUP, SOFTENERS, PEPSIN, NATURAL AND ARTIFICIAL FLAVORING." , "AMERICAN CHICLE CO. MANUFACTURER" , "MADE IN U.S.A. NEW YORK N.Y. 5 STICKS". The bottom side reads, "BEEMAN'S PEPSIN GUM" , "GOOD FOR DIGESTION". The back side says the same as the front plus, "REG. U.S. PAT. OFF." and "'TO OPEN PULL TAB". This is authentic, vintage.. almost antique, unopened chewing gum. 2 packs, each containing 5 sticks of gum. This gives you 10 vintage gum stick wrappers, a good re-sell possibility, if you decide to open the packs. Or maybe open one and display the sticks in a shadow frame along with the other unopened pack below them. That would make a great collectors frame. Some gum wrappers alone sell for up to $200, and these are some rare packs of gum. I had a hard time finding anything similar. Beeman in the late 19th Century. Beeman originally marketed the gum, which was made of pepsin powder and chicle, as an aid to digestion. It became a part of the Adams Company line in 1898, and continued on after the purchase of Adams by Warner-Lambert in 1962. Production ceased in 1978 due to lagging sales. In 1985, as part of a nostalgia campaign, it was brought back to the market along with Clove and Black Jack chewing gums. The original wrapper had a pig logo, but was later replaced with a logo featuring the Beeman's name in scroll and a picture of Dr. Beeman. The current wrapper design has a white and red background with white and black lettering. Beemans is sporadically produced by Cadbury Adams as a nostalgia gum, along with the other historic gums Clove and Black Jack. The gum was prominently featured in the movies The Right Stuff, Hot Shots!, and The Rocketeer. It was considered to be the lucky gum of pilots."
