Description

2008 Blacksmith Calendar (see my other auctions for other years).  Using a different set of 80-100 year old photos each year, I’ve produced a Blacksmith Calendar from 2000 through 2008.  The 2000 calendar was sold out, but I still have a quantity of calendars left over from the other years.  These calendars have a good variety of old photographs that will appeal to both blacksmiths and farriers. The pictures show typical blacksmith shops from the early 1900s, including anvils, swage blocks, forges & blowers, trip hammers, post drills, overhead shafts, cone mandrills, etc., along with old time farriers and blacksmiths, signs on the walls and other interesting items. The focus of the 2006 calendar is on World War I military blacksmiths. The 2007 and 2008 calendars contain extra images in the back from old blacksmith related postcards.  In many cases no information is available for these photos, but I’ve compiled a list containing what information is available for each of the calendars and the set of 25 postcards (see other auctions), and a copy will be included with each order. The unfolded dimensions are 11" x 17", with the top 8.5" x 11" occupied by that month's picture and the bottom 8.5" x 11" occupied by that month's calendar. See below for examples (Note: the month does not appear on the photos in the calendar). Please don't use the examples as an indication of quality. The examples were scanned at 72 pixels-per-inch which is ideal for display on computer monitors. The calendars were professionally printed using a 200 line-per-inch process, which yielded a near photographic result, and were then shrink-wrapped.  US and Canadian holidays included.  Inquire if interested in more than what remains in the auction.  Free shipping to a U.S. or Canadian address. Please e-mail any questions.
