This is part of the advertisement that was in the catolog describing this knife. "This Damascus Skinning knife with a Scagel inspired handle of leather and White Tail Crown, has taken over six years to bring to you. The steel was ordered from premier damascus maker, Daryl Meier, that long ago. The crowns have taken three years to collect and weeks to select, clean and prepare 150 pieces which would work with this design. We found we needed a new mark for the knives which we are handmaking in our own shop. I tell you all this just to let you know to what extremes we are going to create a knife which you will treasure as long as you remain interested in knives. We will make skinners of this size with other blade steels and other handle materials, but damascus with stag and leather will be limited to these 150 knives. The 3-3/4" upswept blade measures 1" at the widest point. Overall length of the knife is 8". Weighs approximately 7 oz. Handmade leather sheath included.
