s If you have questions, please ask before bidding. ITEM: Antique Victorian fancy brass bird cage with one of the original glass waterer or feeder. The dome style top has ornately formed wavy brass wire bars topped with a brass finial and loop for hanging the cage. The spring loaded door has a fancy twisted wire handle/lock and the front of the cage has an ornamental brass applied shell or fan decoration. WHEN MADE: Patent dates are SEP 21, 1869; NOV 16, 1872; MAR 8, 1881 impress marked on on of the locking slides SIZE: 15 1/2" tall x 12" x 10 1/4" across the base CONDITION: Free of dents, bends breaks or cracks. The brass has its original patina with some minor age appropriate color variation. The removable metal insert tray for the cage bottom has some discoloration and a round surface rust spot. The glass feeder is free of breaks, cracks or chips. Overall the cage is in excellent condition for its age. DESCRIPTION: The cage is not marked and very well made.
