The sword feels great in hand. The photos don't do it any justice. As for the mountings, the simple design of the fittings i.e. tsuba, menuki, and fuchi/kashira make me think that this sword was designed to be a fast cutter rather than a fancy art sword. The tsuka and saya look to be recently made.Overall, a fantastic vintage katana.
