Description

ANTIQUE     VICTORIAN     SILVER PLATED     CLASSIC COVERED       SHAVING MUG           Silver plated ware refers to articles chiefly intended for tableware historically consisting of a base metal covered with an ounce of silver per square foot of surface area.  The silver standard in Mexico is .970  which means that the marking on this cup of 762 is a quite high component of silver.  It has a nice weight for its size.     The design is quite unusual with the top fitting ~ the mug has a cutout for the lid when it is put on.  The spout is not narrow and is rather rounded to hold the soap slivers.  The handle is particularly graceful and wonderfully proportioned for the design.   Would make a fabulous Jam Jar ~ lovely small vase  ~ Beautiful Decorative Piece !         3 ¼” Diameter   3 ½” Tall     Holds 12 oz Liquid     Good Condition   Dented in Lid & Soap Spout
