Ceremonial Necklace Yoruba People,Nigeria.An authentic Yorbua traditoonal beaded necklace.It conform to similar beaded ornaments used by Yoruba Babalawos Material and Technique: Woven fabric, strung multi-coloredglass trade beads bundled together and joined together with large white and black beads; pendants at both ends consist of multi-coloredglass trade beads intricately embroidered onto a fabric base Core ofpendants are made of leather covered with imported printed fabric. Dimension: L.43 1/2 in Content: Main necklace consistingof 16 segments of strung white, brown, blue,green and orange beads bundled together with two pendants;one depicting a round animal face with tiny eyes; the other depicts a zig zag motif. Condition: Some areas show deterioration; fabric bordering edges of pendants are partly worn out. Date: Early 20th Century P.S. Better pictures can be provided if needed.
