Description

Rare antebellum document from Perryville, Alabama Dated 1 January 1860 (in error), it delineates an entire year's account for William Hodge from the firm of W.T.& J.C Airey, purveyors of ready made clothing, Queensware, staple and fancy goods, drugs, medicines, hats, caps, shoes, and boots.  The invoice includes a blue wool vest and pants, calf shoes, "Cattaw" hose, snuff, "super" razors, shaving cream, cassimere coat, ink, and hand soap. Also included are 1 box G.D. Percussion caps, 1 pound shot, and 1/6 pound gunpowder.   Really neat antebellum item from an old blackbelt town that would frame beautifully. This is a complete single document captured in two photographs for legibility.
