Early 1900s. This is a unique opportunity to own Raphael Tuck's complete collection of six sets: The Queen's Doll's House postcards. These do not come along as a complete collection of six sets very often (if at all). These are six sets of eight postcards each set with their own envelope. The cards are in pristine condition, it looks like they have hardly been out of the envelopes. These cards were exclusively produced by Tuck at the request of the Queen's Doll's House Committee in their famous "Oilette" process at the beginning of the 1900s. Each set had a theme: Set 1: House, Hall & Dining Room. Series No. 4500. Set 2: Drawing Room, Library, Etc. Series No. 4501. Set 3: The Royal Bedrooms Etc. Series No. 4502. Set 4: The Queen's Private Apartments, Etc. Series No. 4503. Set 5: Nursery and Kitchen. Series No. 4504. Set 6: Round about the House. Series No. 4505. Each postcard has details of the illustration on the back, and this text is among the best documentation of its kind of the Queen's Doll's House that is available because Tuck had an exclusive invitation by the Committee to create a faithful and permanent record of "this wonderful miniature palace and its priceless contents." You will find odd cards from this series on Ebay, and occasionally a full set, but try looking for all six sets, let alone in perfect condition, and you won't find them anywhere. Starting at £40.00 makes each card just 83pence each!!! The cards are in perfect, unused condition. The envelopes are complete although a couple have short tears along folds. They are sold as a complete set of six and will not be split up.
