The surface has some expected corrosions, weathering, wear, degradation and abrasions as a consequence of age and extended burial. Some original sedimentary dispositions remain on part of the surface. Origin : The bead was excavated in the Indus Valley / Pakistan Remarks : This extremely rare cream stone bead dates to ca. 3000 BC – 1500 BC This ancient stone bead was excavated in the area of the Indus Valley in today’s Pakistan. History : The INDUS VALLEY Civilization (circa 3300 - 1500 B.C.) flourished circa 2600 – 1900 B.C., was an ancient riverine civilization that flourished in the Indus and Ghaggar-Hakra river valleys primarily in what is now Pakistan but also northwestern India, parts of Afghanistan and Turkmenistan. Another name for this civilization is the Harappan Civilization, after the first of its cities to be excavated, Harappa. The civilization is sometimes also called the Saraswati-Sindhu Civilization, based on the possible identification of the Ghaggar-Hakra River with the ancient Saraswati river (Sindhu being local name for the river Indus). Harappa is a locality in the Indus River Valley in Pakistan, which dates back to before 2000BC. Other than the Moenjodaro site, archaeologists have found evidence of a possible link between Indian and Sumerian cultures. Scholars do not know how it began or whether its people were related to those who now occupy Southwest Asia. Nomadic tribes called Aryans invaded the Indus River Valley, probably from the region north of the Caspian Sea, in 1500 B.C.
