Sarah Hession's Basket from the Bog On my just completed Irish buying trip I visited our favorite all-time basketmaker Sarah Hession and was able to talk her out of a few more baskets. I made it a point to go to Ballina, County Mayo specifically to find Sarah Hession and buy some more of her wonderful baskets and I'm happy to report that I was successful. I brought back a few more Sarah baskets. It would be a mistake to call the wonderful basket craftsperson Sarah Hession a woman from the 'bog' but it would not be a mistake to say that almost every basket she makes comes from the Attymass bog in County Mayo. Sarah's specialty is crafting baskets and a few other things - including this fabulous bog rush basket - from material that she finds in the bog at Attymass. She has made some wonderful baskets that we've sold on Ebay and Sarah has a legion of customers for her baskets. Although we bought several baskets from the bog from Sarah, but none that we like any better than this one...a fabulous basket made out of Attymass bog rush in 1979. Filled with flowers, what a nice centerpiece this old bog rush basket will make and a lovely decor enhancer any where you put it. This is a very intricately detailed Sarah Hession basket from the bog and as you can tell from the pictures. You might as well get in line for this fabulous bog rush basket from the bog because it's a one and only. Sarah never duplicates a basket. This is a gorgeous basket and it's 17" tall and 12' x 17".What a fabulous basket this is...basket collectors should line up for this one. Sarah makes almost weekly trips to the bog to gather the bog rush and the sallyrods to make her baskets and I'm hoping to get several more of them on my next trip home. Aren't you delighted?
