Laura Wheeler Pattern 510 is a pretty primping Flapper, includes a copy of the original instructions with color suggestions, and the dimensions of the original pattern for resizing of the 8.5 x 11 copy. The third pattern copy in this series was drawn from a completed pillow top with the name Nell Brinkley stamped on the side. No other identifying marks. A curly haired Flapper writing a letter with a feather pen. The original embroidered piece looks like it was an iron on transfer that someone ironed onto a very stiff heavy cotton and then did then embroidered it. Picture of the finished piece included on the instruction sheet for color suggestions. THESE ARE NOT TRANSFERS; YOU WILL NEED TO TRACE THE DESIGN TO THE FABRIC WITH A WATER-SOLUBLE PEN, PRINT OUT ON COMPUTER FABRIC OR USE A TRANSFER PEN. Nell Brinkley was born in 1888. She was a self-taught artist and worked for William Randolph Hearst publications. This Queen of Comics is the creator of what became known as the Brinkley Girl; a sophisticated and stylish working-girl with curly hair wearing dresses with lots of laces and ruffles.
