Up for auction is a pretty little all cream colored porcelain teapot in the "Mozart Ivory" pattern #35 made by Bauscher Weiden of Germany. It has a lovely embossed cartouche on the front and back along with lattice and scrolls. It is footed and has a fancy curlicue handle. The green backstamp mark reads, "Bauscher Weiden Bavaria Germany 35". The pot is 4 1/2" tall to the top of the lid finial and 6" across from the tip of the spout to the back of the handle. It holds 1 1/2 cups of liquid. The lid has the green #35. It has a drain hole cast into the bottom of the spout. I have seen this before in their other teapots, but I am not sure of the exact purpose. I thought it might be to capture leaves or grounds, but if someone has the exact explanation I would appreciate the information (see last photo). There are no chips or cracks and the condition is very good. Good luck bidding and thanks for looking.
