This is a plaster roaring lion's head wall plaque painted black. It measures 6.25"w x 8"h x 5"d and probably weighs 2+ lbs. The detail in the mold is awesome, very stylized & VERY 3D. His mane curls down and under as well as crowns the top of his head. His fur above his mouth curls up and he has a little beard. His brow, cheeks, flaring nose, roaring mouth filled with teeth and inset eyes articulate his threat. He does have small flecks of paint off edges of his mane, mouth, teeth and ears which I think could all be touched up quite easily. He also has one .75" chip off of his lower left mane. This too could probably be repaired, but with a bit more attention and care. The back side has a piece of wire set into the plaster so it is easily hung safe and securely on the wall. I have owned this for maybe 20 years.
