BABY SEATURTLE HATCHLING HANDCRAFTED POTTERY by raArt! "MADELINE SEATURTLE- 02" HANDCRAFTED BABY SEATURTLE is formed from clay, then detailed with my special selection of shells and tools to make a lifelike yet whimsical turtle creation. Then I form a seaturtle egg shell out of clay and position the baby turtle inside as if it were hatching. Once the baby turtles are completely dry, I fire them in my huge front loading kiln to about 2000 degrees for durability. The next step involves carefully glazing the egg shell with a natural crackle glaze, followed by glazing the tiny turtle body with my own special glaze mix. I add the details to the eyes and sign the bottom side of each egg with my logo. Then it is back to the kiln to fire again, bringing my turtle creations to colorful life. Of course, no two turtles are every alike. So I must list them individually and let you choose your favorites. Each turtle has been named to help me keep them from getting mixed up. To me, each baby turtle has it's own special personality and charm. Each cross has unique color variations/shape/size - no 2 alike!
