CARVED OLIVE WOOD ST. BENEDICT MEDAL-CRUCIFIX This beautiful crucifix is handcrafted by one of Italy's leading artisanal manufactures. The cross is made of beautifully veined olive wood and is decorated with a line painted in a darker color which is scored onto its surface. The detailed Corpus and Medal are in a contrasting silver noted metal. The medal of St. Benedict, which cushions the head of the crucified Christ encircled by the crown of thorns, is approved by the Church, and by the power of Christ on the Cross is a strong protection for our Faith against the temptations of the Devil. The crucifix measures approx. 3" x 1 3/4", and comes with its own cord (approx. 26" long). ST. BENEDICT MEDAL Included with the sale of this crucifix is an extremely detailed 3/4" St. Benedict Medal. The Medal of St. Benedict is perhaps the most esteemed medal by the Holy Church. Whosoever wears this Medal with devotion may expect the powerful protection of the great Patriarch of Western Monasticism in time of spiritual and temporal needs. It may be used the following ways: on chain around the neck; attached to one's rosary; kept in one's pocket or purse; placed in one's car or home; placed in the foundation of a building; or placed in the center of a cross.
