You are bidding on a complete set of Civil War cards put out by Atlas Editions from 1993 to 1995 and have been out of print since 1996. the cards were never sold as a complete set or at any retail outlet. The cards are 5.5†by 5.5†and were issued to subscribers only in monthly “decksâ€. The “decks†came 3 at a time and each contained 20 cards making a complete set of 2360 cards. Three Blue and Gray storage boxes were issued to hold the cards and twenty index cards were supplied to separate the cards into 20 distinct sections. Each card has a picture on the front of a famous person, place or event of the Civil War and is coded as to the state, date, subject catagory and subject loyalty. The back of the card contains a clear and concise view of the subject pictured on the front written by one of many Civil War scholars. They are as follows: 1. The Crisis 2. Politics and Politicians 3. Battles and Campaigns: 1861 4. Battles and Campaigns: 1862 5. Battles and Campaigns: 1863 6. Battles and Campaigns: 1864 7. Battles and Campaigns :1865 8. The Conflict at Sea 9. The Reconstruction Unfortuneatly, the replica battles maps and the replica Confederate $500 bill have long since disappeared. However, the 2360 cards are the storage boxes along with the user’s manual are all here. The cards are in perfect condition. ( I used them while teaching and the students were not allowed to handle them.) Here is a great teaching tool and/or a great font to Civil War knowledge teacher or student of that part of America’s history.
