Up for auction is a small cloisonne-over-brass vase: turquoise background, with reddish-brown/green/deep blue flowers, leaves and accents. The vase is 3.75 inches tall, almost 4.5 inches wide at its widest point, which is the rim. In very good condition, it is not dinged or dented but does have a half-inch spot that looks like has some other metal on it OR the brass has rubbed. I know nothing about the nature of brass, but it looks (from the inside of the vase) to be fully brass, and it is heavy for such a small piece: it weighs in at a pound all by itself. It has a marking on it in Chinese characters that I certainly cannot decifer! It is probably between 25 and 35 years old. It could be older--but that was just when it came into our family.
