Rear Admiral Frank Ashton Leamy (1900-1966), US Coast Guard officer and aviator. Leamy was the Superintendent of the Coast Guard Academy from 1957 to 1961. In 1937, Leamy was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for his rescue of a fishing trawler 50 miles SE of Boston.A typed letter to a collector on Coast Guard Academy stationary, signed by F. F. Leamy, dated 7th November, 1958. The folded letter is discolored on the four corners from glue on the reverse.The letter comes from the archives of the noted Raab Collection.
