U SPACE: 1999 Eagles Pro/Engineer Models and Drawings   PLEASE TAKE EXTRA, SPECIAL NOTE: These are "CAD" files and not physical, hold in your hand models. Copying files for any reason other than personal backup is strictly prohibited. Items are delivered by Web download in zip format.   It's 1999 and a base has been built on the Moon. Moonbase Alpha safeguards the nuclear waste shipped from Earth and carries out research. Moonbase Alpha is staffed with 311 crew members. On September 13, 1999, disaster strikes. The nuclear waste explodes, in a chain reaction, and the Moon is hurled out of Earth's orbit, into deep space. Thus begins the adventures of Space:1999.... This British-produced weekly series starred the Mission Impossible team of Martin Landau and Barbara Bain, and boasted outstanding miniature special effects by Brian Johnson, impressive sets, and high production values. Space 1999 helped fill the Sci-fi void between the original Star Trek and its revival, and is fondly remembered by its fans, no less so even as the real year of 1999 recedes into history. Created in the modern manner of computerized solid modeling ** using Parametric Technology Corporation's Pro/ENGINEER © (Pro/E) design software - arguably the World's preeminent solid modeling software - this listing presents a unique opportunity to view the Space 1999 Eagles 3D CAD models and Detailed Drawings (Blueprints). A primary method of viewing these models is to use Parametric Technology Corporation's (PTC) ProductView Express (PVX). This is a specially designed plug-in for Internet Explorer and has been made freely available by PTC. PVX highlights include: Free browser plug-in for viewing Pro/E files. Simple and easy to use - no training required. Dynamic spin, pan, zoom, and fly-through capabilities. Display objects in Wireframe, Hidden Line, No Hidden, and Shading. Printing supported through Web browser print functionality. Control graphical performance using FPS (Frames Per Second). Operating Systems: Windows 2000 & XP only. Web browser: Internet Explorer 5.5, SP 2 and later.   Models can be viewed in cross-section, wireframe, no-hidden and shaded view states.   ** Within the last 20 years computer **"Solid Modeling"  technology has been created and developed to a point where most everything in life today isn't unaffected by it in some manner. This incredible tool is now a fundamental part of today's design and manufacturing processes, supplanting the drawing board and earlier generation CAD (Computer Aided Design) systems. Solid modeling is currently used in the design and manufacture of almost every conceivable product ranging from mega-powerful warships to medical implants, from automobiles to the latest jetliners, from farming equipment to cellular phones. ** Solid Modeling:  "The creation of computer models in which "complete" definitions of physical objects are created. Resulting 3D models are based on solids and parameters rather than geometry only."   BONUS ITEM: Detailed Drawing Also included, a professionally prepared "detailed drawing" of Eagles produced from the same solid models. Again created with Pro/E but presented in PDF format:   Each professionally crafted sheet is prepared on E-size format (44 inches by 34 inches) - drawing file will plot perfectly on any media size up to and including E-size.          Click on the figure below to read our article in CADALYST magazine:
