Reproduction in whole or in part without our permission is prohibited. very large, oversize (6" X 9")1950'S Stardust Casino Las Vegas Postcard with a picture of the Stardust parking lot, entrance and marquee. Some Stardust Info: The Stardust was a Vegas resort with a much storied background. For openers …. Tony Cornero (an LA mobster who ran gambling boats off the coast of Los Angeles) went to Vegas to build his dream in th eearly 1950's. He started financing ‘The Starlight Hotel’ by selling shares to the public, never registering the shares. The SEC stepped in and Tony went to the Desert Inn to make a financing deal (which changed the name to The Stardust and made the Desert Inn a partner). Unfortunately Tony died at the craps table (1955) before leaving the building and construction on the Stardust was delayed for two years. After arranging more financing, the Stardust opened and leased the casino to United Hotels (run by Moe Dalitz of the Desert Inn). In subsequent years, there was numerous investigations of skimming from the soft count (paper money) rooms of the casino and eventually the authorities cleaned things up; but not before millions and millions of dollars were taken. The Stardust opened the topless Lido de Paris (very risqué). Condition: Excellent, small corner bumping (please click on photo for details). Check out my other items!
