You are bidding on an exceptional item. MILTON FRIEDMAN. Pesonalized First Day Cover signed: "For Brian Michaelson, Milton Friedman". 6½x3¾. FDC depicting Economic Development, 10-cent Republic of Korea stamp affixed, postmarked I think in Korea (because the lettering is Asian so I dont recognize it) but the date is 71.1.5 (Jan 5, 1971), FIRST DAY OF ISSUE. Milton Friedman (1912-2006), a Nobel Prize winner in Economics (1976), was the leader of the Chicago ("monetarist") School of economic policy, which identified the money supply as the key determinant of business cycles and inflation. Like his scholarly work, his popular works, such as Capitalism and Freedom (1962) and the PBS TV series, Free to Choose (1980), celebrated individual economic freedom. An advisor to Presidents Nixon and Reagan, serving on the latter's Economic Policy Advisory Board, he moved in 1977 from his 30-year professorship at the University of Chicago to become a Senior Research Fellow at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University. The envelope is in good condition, however the back flaps are coming apart so I scotchtaped it and slightly yellowed by age. Aside from the that the signature is wonderful, clear 7 signed in blue ink. I usually ship out within 24 hours of receiving payment unless there is a weekend or holiday involved and then it gets shipped on the next business day. My fees include any fees associated with the auction as well as shipping fees. Any questions feel free to email me. Thanks for looking & have fun bidding!
