Each plate displays a colorful image that correlates with a verse from the holiday carol, "The Twelve Days of Christmas". This pattern was produced between 1970 and 1983. The Haviland company started with the first verse of the song, "A Partridge in a Pear Tree" and every year after that produced the next verse in the song.
