Large Vintage Framed Original Amer. Art Oil Painting This auction is for an authentic Vintage Original Framed Oil Painting by an American Artist. The subject matter is a beautifully executed scene of clipper ships at sea. The piece is signed by American Artist, “JACKSONâ€. The painting is in Very Good condition. The stretched canvas nestles in a fittingly perfect wooden 3-dimensional Frame that has been made more rustic with the years – The current owner added a French white-wash technique applied to the outside of the frame that creates a light blue vintage patina look to match & blend with the blues in the painting. The painting creates a peaceful feeling of oceanic harmony with lots of blue hues. You wish you were the birds flying above the sea. The colors fit any decor & the frame is classic. This painting was rescued from destruction. It is slightly scathed by a scar here and a dot there. These little flaws are easily reparable by a reputable repair person. We left the painting intact because some people value more the authenticity of works that remain in original condition. Vintage items lose their allure to some people when altered. So, we leave it up to the individual to choose whether to repair or not to repair the artwork. We’ve included some close ups of the little flaws of which we speak. The biggest scar is the small tear, approximately 2â€, thin, & easily repaired. It is not visible to most passersby. Only a trained, discerning eye could catch it, in our opinion. We see no visible cracking. Keep in mind that we do not place ourselves as pedestal experts. We just offer our observations. Please examine photos for further details.
