Ex-library copy from the Cranston Street Baptist Church in Providence, RI. Outside covers have wear and discoloration from age and use (see photos). Corners bumped and frayed. Spine cloth frayed at top/bottom and splitting at top side edges. Also rubbed spot in cloth at center, along with library marking. Hinges cracked. Usual library labels on front and back cover. Insect hole at top corner of pages 49-74. Some damp-staining to frontispiece illustration at outside edge. Title-page has ink library markings. Several internal pages have spots from age and use. Other than noted, inside pages are clean and unmarked. DescriptionPublished in 1888, book is an action adventure frontier story (juvenile audience) with a Christian theme published by the American Baptists Publication Society. Includes six full-page illustrations by noted 19th century Philadelphia engraving firm of Van Ingen & Snyder. Volume is very rare. No copies were located during a worldwide library search.
