RARE chance to grab a piece of history, this is one of 150 or so tee shirts given to those of us that rode her back from Staten Island to Manhattan,NY. 10/2/08. I will also include the article from the next day Daily News and the neat colored page that the NY Times did. The shirt is a large, never worn, . I also don't believe the others with me would sell their items they received. It was a beautiful day, everyone came away very happy, I'm glad I was chosen, beleive me. NOW the bad news, you e-bayers out there, if you see someone selling these in quantity please contact Lee Heydolph of the Intrepid Assoc. It appears there were left over shirts for DAV vets, and other x-crewmembers that did not make the "cruise". Last I heard, the box of shirts is still missing. When we manned the rail pulling into Manhattan, someone stole the box of shirts. So keep your eyes open. If you see something contact Lee at cv11men@aol.com That was the only bad mark for the whole day. Again this is one of a few shirts that were made for this occasion. Also neat on the back the pipping is reproduced. Thanks to my cousin Jimmy, who I bought this extra shirt for when he heard of the theft, would not accept, it should go to someone perhaps associated with the ship. PS, he was in the Army, special ops, shot twice in a secret operation into Cambodia in '68. He is very sick of contact with agent orange and can't even get his full benifits cause that operation [event] wasn't even in his discharge papers, thats your government at work fellow vets, thanks for looking, Bill Perby,3545296, USS INTREPID, 1967-8, V-1 Division, Fly 2... Lastly 1/2 of what this shirt brings, will go to the USS Intrepid Assoc. so bid often.
