MEXICAN TONALA POTTERY TOUCAN FAIR CONDITION This Mexican tonala pottery toucan sits an impressive 6 1/4" H x 9 3/4" L x 3 1/2" and is handpainted in earthtones--mainly tan,light brown and rust with grey and black accents. This old bird does, however, have a few condition issues. There are large areas where finish has worn away; chipping on both feet: one one, mainly underside and shallow--on the other, a substantial long chunk on one side ( see photos). Beak has obviously been entirely reglued and crack where the repair was done is very visible all the way around ( please see photos). In spite of the flaws, still structurally sound with most of the handpainting and burnished finish still remaining. No artist's marks. Sorry: cannot guarantee this item is or has been solely in a smoke/pet-free environment.
