This is a glowing white opalescent 1950s Murano art glass dish stretched into a roughly starlike shape with six "points", a scalloped rim and six clear glass handlelike projections coming out from beneath each point. The dish has a pinwheel pattern of clear emerald polychrome and gold aventurine on its interior and is heavily cased in clear glass. It measures 11" across its widest points by 2" high and has a nearly untouched polished pontil. It's in perfect "display" condition with no chips, cracks or scratches other than some dimpling on one edge of the pontil which dates from when the dish was created. This is a beautiful example of Italian opalescent glass artistry. Selling on EBay is a hobby for me and not my only source of income. I obtain most of my items at low prices through various sales and auctions so I am able to list these pieces fairly reasonably. This does NOT mean they are reproductions or knockoffs. They ARE the real thing. I just don't need to list them at some outlandish price in order to pay overhead, buy food and keep the baby in diapers. So I invite you to please, enjoy my auctions--I do.
