Description

This musket ball has been fired on 18 June 1815.I found it in the fields some 200 feet from the farmhouse "La Belle Alliance" which is near Waterloo (Belgium) so it has almost certainly been fired by a French soldier.La Belle Alliance has been conquered several times both by the French and the Allies; it was in the thick of the battle of Waterloo. The caliber of the ball is 17.4 millimeters (= 11/16 inch) and apart from some very superficial dents and some corrosion it is still spherical. THIS MUSKET BALL THAT HAS BEEN FIRED DURING THE BATTLE OF WATERLOO WILL BE A UNIQUE ASSET TO YOUR COLLECTION OF ANTIQUE FRENCH MILITARIA !In case you want more information about this item do not hesitate to E-mail your questions to: j.p.borden@quicknet.nlCONDITIONS OF SALE:There is no reserve price on this item !Buyer pays the (actual) cost of shipping and (if desired) insurance.                                      THANK YOU FOR LOOKING!
