**** This beautiful blueberry pie bird was handcrafted in a blueberry ceramic studio in Brooks, Maine. Artist, Carol Hegstrom demonstrates her classy artistry on this darling 4" pie bird. Line a pie dish with pastry, and place the "bird" in the center and put the filling around the "pie bird". Put a pastry top on but allow the bird to stick out of a hole in the center of the pie. Pinch crust around the bird's shoulder, allowing the head to stick through the pastry. The bird will release steam through his mouth "vent" during baking and help to prevent fruit juices from bubbling over into the oven. Makes a great gift for the baker/ blueberry lover.
