This antique canning jar is a deep aqua color. The front is impressed "Mason's Patent Nov 30th 1858". The bottom has the Roman numerals IV (4?) impressed into it. The jar is 9 1/2" tall, and 4 1/2" in diameter. The jar has no chips, cracks or damage. The inside edge of the top rim is slightly rough and has 2 minute shallow chips, I don't know if that is wear or from grinding the rim during production. The threads are smooth. The zinc lid is in very good condition, it has a porcelain liner that is marked "Boyd's Genuine Porcelain Liner Cap" and a "2" in the center. Please see all the photos below. The jar weighs 1 1/2 lbs, careful packing will add 2 lbs to the total shipping weight. I ship immediately upon receipt of payment.
