Description

Jane-mt-home Store This item is a collection of quilt books or catalogs by Scioto Imhoff Danner, one of the pioneers of modern quilt patterns.  They were originally printed between 1934 and 1962.  There have been  reprints and  I am not sure which printing these are from.  I will simply describe each and give what printing information is available.   #1 is marked as "Printed by Don's Quality Printing, Eldorado, Kansas and is all in black and white.  It is in very good condition with only minor wear on the covers.  The interior pages are excellent and complete.  #2 is very similar to #1 but has no printer mentioned.  The paper, printing and wear are remarkably like the first one.  There is a faint crease on the front cover but the paper is not damaged or torn.   #3 is the most interesting.  It says it was printed by "Grit Printing Inc. 745 So Emporia, Wichita, Kansas and has color prints on both sides of the front and back covers (4 pictures).  It is slightly smaller than 1,2 or 4 and the same as the pamphlet, which I am assuming  was an addition to this booklet.  I have not found any information on this printing, but the price list in the pamphlet is dated 1962, and I believe that is a logical date. It has an oily stain on the front cover that shows through the page and the cover is seperated for about 2 inches on the bottom of the fold.  The pages inside are very good and complete.  #4 originally printed in 1958 again has no printer mentioned (like #2) and is also very similar to #1 and #2. It is in good condition with only slight wear and creasing and a small circle stain on the back cover.  The 5th piece is something I have not found any information on.  It is the same size as #3 and similar in print quality but has no color plates.  It has a 1962 price list for items in catalogs 1 and 2 and an explanation of some of the reprinting.  It has 5 new quilt patterns and a very interesting letter from Mrs Danner about the history of her business.  It is not folded and stapled like the others, but is one sheet of paper folded in thirds.  There is no mention of a copyright or printer.  It is in excellent condition with little wear.  I have seen mention of a 5th catalog and am not sure if this is what is referred to or if there is another book. I am a newer seller on ebay and I am working hard to get established.  I ship next day after payment clears through PayPal and only charge handling to cover reciept verification.  If actual postage is less than quoted, I will refund the difference.  I pack as carefully as I can (with "recycled" materials when possible) but accidents do happen so insurance is recommended.  I will combine shipping if I know that you are bidding on more of my items, just message me with the info. I will accept returns, but cannot refund insurance and shipping, so we will all be happier if questions are asked before bids are placed.  I check messages every evening, and will be glad to send or post more pictures or answer questions.  I am glad to ship to other countries for people with a good history, but please check with me for shipping costs before bidding.Thank you for considering my items, and good luck.
