Vietnam War Badge: 3rd / 47th Infantry TASK FORCE 16 during Operation CORONADO II Commemorative Badge - rare Original Operation Coronado II: Also know as Operation Dinh Tuong was a joint ARVN and US Military Operation in Dinh Tuong Province in 1967. On the basis of information received the Allies believed that the bases Dong Tam and at My Tho were under imminent attack from a large Vietcong Force. With the Mekong Delta Task Force 16, and members of the US 47th Infantry along with RVN Elite Special Forces of the Tiger Force Rangers on the 27 July of July a battle was to commence on the My Tho River and in surrounding areas. The battle lasted 6 days ended the immediate threat. 68 Vietcong POW's were captured with 73 Vietcong KIA. From the United States Military 9 were killed in action with 64 wounded. This badge was made shortly afterwards by members of the 3/47th Infantry to commemorate their part in this operation and their time with the Mekong Riverine force. rare badge and 1 Only available for sale.
