Almost half of them are sterling silver and came from the estate of a lady that had collected them for over 45 years. If you are the high bidder on more than one auction ending on the same night we will combine them so you can save some money on the shipping costs. Remember..................you are only bidding on the one compact in this auction. ******************************This beautiful old compact is 2 3/8" in diameter and weighs a total of 57.4 grams. It is marked sterling along with the makers mark for Lebolt & Co. , circa 1908 Chicago. They were manufacturers of Arts & Crafts handwrought sterling silver holloware, flatware & jewelry. The design on the front is all hand engraved and it has an initial but I have no idea what it is......Maybe a D or F. The only damage is a couple of minor dings on the the back....nothing serious but I did want to mention them. The clasps and hinges work great and there is still some powder inside.
