Description

 This is an Orthodox Christian Burial Shroud called "Savano"  in Greek.  It is from the Holy City of Jerusalem and it has been brought to Christ's Most-Holy Sepulcher. It is used for the burial of Orthodox Christians, being placed on the relic of the deceased.  It displays the Holy Sepulcher with two angels at the top and is written in Greek "O Panagios Taphos"  "The Most-Holy Tomb" at the very top.  After this is an icon of the crucifixion. "The wages of sin are death", but Christ being alien to all sin died for our sins.  The next icon is of the burial of Christ.  Being buried with Him may He resurrect us also.  Around the sides of the of the shroud the following is written in Greek "The most noble Joseph having taken down Your spotless Body from the wood,  wrapped It in clean linen with spices and buried it in an empty tomb."It is a treasured remembrance of death to have our things ready for our last earthly journey.The shroud's dimensions are  29 inches in width and 59 inches in length.On May-16-08 at 08:35:43 PDT, seller added the following information: orthodoxchristianshop Store
