Petrified Wood Limb (Araucaria (conifer) - Location: Madagascar. Here we have a petrified wood limb with the end polished from Madagascar. It is an Araucaria (conifer) from the Triassic period. The limb shows great detail and looks just like it did when the limb was still part of a ‘living’ tree. This makes a great display specimen (my own personal preference), however, this piece also has potential for lapidary purposes.
