Made in 1978, and from a series of 12 figurines, this is the Explorer. Intricately modelled in solid pewter, this is so full of detail, from the folding telescope in his hand, to the pack under his foot, the ground is littered with a variety of essential items, more are covering his saddle. Marketed by Franklin Mint, this must have been one of their earliest series. But please do not be put off by this – this could stand up to ANY pewter figurine and knock the spots off it. It is signed P J on the base. It comes with a lovely booklet(torn but taped), which tells the story of these vital characters in Australia’s rich history. He is 110mm high, on a base 75mm x 75mm. He is in as new condition. Please don’t bid unless you really want this item – non paying bidders dishearten all of us! Trading should be enjoyable for buyer and seller, don’t you think?
